Unless it was a reply to this...

Its pure speculation, but I am going to lay down my bets......... that Ford will keep the XR8 badge/spec level and it will have an N/A 5.0 in it.

In which case he could be saying there is no optional supercharger because they all have them.

The way I read it is that CSP may be right by saying there is only a blown motor for the FPV range.

I said "I would be very suprised if there is no N/A option" & "You can bet the XR8/GS models will be NA"

If there are no options or no bets, then there I no NA option for the FPV. That should make it one tough lineup of v8's :w00t2:

From what I have read, power will be similar to the current v8 but a saving of 40-50 kg's- mayb e a litle more.

Well, that my friends will leave ford taking a big fat one from Expensive Daewoo for another generation. I took a new ss Manual for a test drive yesterday - very nice. then I drove a new Club Sport - very very nice!!! Expensive Daewoo have an upgrade path for their NA v8 that can run to 370 kw easy, then they have the 450+ kw supercharged option if they want.

As the saying goes - there is no replacement for displacement. that's why the ford i6 has the goods over Expensive Daewoo v6 for the last 10 years and the oposite for v8's.

My next purchase will be a V8 and I will have 55k to spend. I know I can get a Bogan special supercharged for that with 450FWKW - lets see what my ford options will be.

A small manufacturing outfit like Ford Aus/FPV, engineering 'options' like those suggested, and all the testing that goes with it would not be viable financially in the hope that the option gets taken up in numbers to justify the engineering.

The notion about not everybody wants a supercharger etc, well the 'norm' is not the norm anymore. The application of engine technology is changing and certain configurations are going to become the norm. Ford pushing this obviously with EcoBoost in all sizes for all sorts of vehicles. Not only Ford, but many manufacturers are applying Forced Induction as the norm.

Ford (current boss) has an upgrade path too. At the end of the day if you put your money into either car you will make any desired (realistic) power.

So its down to 2 things. Money - Which way would be cheaper. Or Manufacturer - Do I want a Expensive Daewoo or a ford.

I don't know much about about upgrading the Expensive Daewoo but add around 10K (drive in drive out) and you will see up to 400RWKW.

Add 15K (drive in drive out) and see power from 400-550+RWKW

Prices are for non-intercooled and intercooled kits respectively.

And that's for the boss motor. With the coyote it might not be cheaper but you should see even more gains.

I know where my money would be going.

There's not going to be a GTHO version anytime soon. Too much of an iconic car to try and replicate. Holded failed hardcore with the W427...

Straight from FPV.
