Which makes the question of whether or not you could get a GT map in there pointless... I cant understand the focus on it, it's like waaaay back in the day the question of whether you could get an F6 tune in a T. :dontknow:

Stuff just a tune in and it'll probably be over and above a GT map....

What dyno are your figures off?

My stock figure was on a Dyno Dynamics. It was the second highest he'd seen though I think for a stock BFII. Mine wasn't stock to be fair, it had the F6 intake and K&N panel filter, good for a few kw so I hear. This was at XFT in Perth.

A few people have taken delivery and test drives...Adrian you shoulda driven that GT from Lane Ford in Mandurah to the nearest dyno... :)

When talking about stock injectors and power figures we should consider the actual limitations of the fuel system.

For interest sake Ford say my BF makes 245 engine kW with 33.4 pound injectors, the size is from the software in the car. If we assume a Brake specific fuel consumption of 0.5 which is good for a turbo car. That is 329 HP. At 85 % duty cycle we can make 350 HP, that is 17ms of injector open at 6000 rpm. If you really pushed it to 95%, which you shouldn't as any room for atmospheheric compensation is gone, then you could get 380 HP or 287 engine kW, not 300+ rwkW. People claiming in excess of 300 rwkW on stock injectors are either being mislead or are soon to be buying new engines. When I tune these vehicles I tune to 10-11 psi at 4000 rpm and reduce the boost to about 7 psi by 6000 rpm as this gives the most power with the available fuel supply. The power band can be made much broader and the car much faster on the road but the peak figures cannot be a great deal higher without injectors. If we assume the same drivetrain loss and other parasitic losses then the correct rw figure will be (Stock engine 245- stock at wheels 208 = 37 kW in losses). The new tuned figure is 287 kW, lets say 295 kW as Ford are conservative with timing and overly rich with fuel. Therefore 295-37 = our accurate maximum rear wheel figure for stock injectors is 258 rwkW at 95% duty cycle.

208 rwkW is a believable figure as the drivetrain loss at 100 kph will be about 10-15 kw and Ford supply gross figures on its engine so less alternator, water pump, power steering and all other parasitic losses these make up the missing 20kw or so.

Seriously, what it's claimed power is and what the actual power is immaterial because that is all just d1ck measuring anyway.

Read some of the tests in TGA recently and supposed 400KW monsters are doing 13's. Give me a break.

Just put it on a track and tell us how quick it is.

Totally agree. The dyno figures are only good for a bit of "he said she said" until a track time or 10 can be posted! Having said that I hear we'll have a dyno result on a new GT from XFT this week and I'm interested in what it pulls, really need a GS in there at the same time though. And a trip to the plex this Wednesday!

I was tempted to take it home there and then but the $$ they want at the moment are crazy. I will wait for the new year then there will be one in my driveway.

Very keen on the results as no one has shown any other then the press car.

Yeah I'm starting to wonder about that car that ran 330 (and the rest) on the rollers, unfortunately. Would love to be proven wrong though. Shame I'm working or I'd ask to have a gander so I can make my mind up on the exhaust note too, which seems to be a bit of a dividing element.

+1 for not paying new car prices, unless I have money to burn or it's a tax dodge. Wonder what they'll drop to on the lots after 6 months. Can't believe the other camp's top of the line sell for almost 6 figures though...? @_@

Anyway it's a good time to be a bogan (lol). The entire time I've been aware of cars, the modern Aus Ford V8 hasn't interested me much, until now.
