Reading the Falcon owners manual today, I note that falcons come with locking fuel flaps, they lock when you lock the car and unlock when you unlock the car. This is even better than having a switch, level or manual lock as you don't have to do anything, when you car is locked, so is your fuel.

Nah it was in an inhouse joke. They stopped fitting them to the cars for a while. Same goes for the glove box light. Cost cutting at its absolute ridiculousnessness.

They do now, a little pin drops down (or pos-up?) to hold it shut.

Yeah but they're a pseudo lock, it's only a plastic cover over the filler. Nothing a screw driver wouldnt fix if they really wanted your fuel.... :spoton:

What do you want? Triple deadbolt with a combination lock?

...but you can't siphon out of them in any case.

In much the same way you can't get the bloody fuel in there in the first place? (Complete with 20 auto shut off 'click's' while filling a tank...)

Don't stuff it all the way in then. NODDY If you put it three quaters of the way in and rest it on its rests like its meant too.... it fills all the way to the top with no cut offs. I can get about $1.50 more in it after the first and only shut off.

I've tried everything, you're right I sit the nozzle about three quarters in, on a 30 degree angle and that seems to accept the most flow. Fords have always been sh*t when filling.

Never had an issue with full throttle filling on my VE...

lol...it's an ant-theft feature. If someone flogs your car and they aren't familiar with it they won't get far (I.e. max. 600km)

I've found 90 degrees works well. Better for the posture as well if you're not vertically challenged. :innocent:
