Not to mention it had 80,000ks of abuse as a Highway Patrol car before I started raping it.Get your heads out of your asses and fit some decent rubber......All tests with the old nugget 5.4s or F6s have all said getting the power down is there weakness so you thinkit would have been a point to fix.HSVs have 275s on the back, so are ford admitting they cant make there drivelines as durable as Holden?and 335 KW out of a blown quad cam V8? slightly dissapointing IMHO.Still I hope to be proven wrong as I wanted this to be something special but currently underwhelmed.Like that last article stated the same blower fitted in the states makes 465KW so surely something like375 would have been more on the money. So one wyould think they would be as strong as eachother?? If HSV can run them so Can FPV! my 2 cents worth

But like all engines, you start low and increase power with updated/special models to keep the interest. As HSV play catchup, FPV will just keep outdoing them easily with a little more boost. If they went straight to 465kw, where would they go from there? As for the rubber, you may have run 275s for the past 2 years without any problems, but remember Ford has to honour a warranty for the Grandma driver aswell as the lead-foot. It has to outlast the worst driver. Yes, Expensive Daewoo have achieved it, but check out how many clutch issues they have at the moment... There is always one sacrificial part in a driveline, and frankly, Ford has chosen the cheaer option for the buyer. A set of tyres vs a clutch? Guest XR09 Guests Posted 08/09/10 07:16 AM Share Posted 08/09/10 07:16 AM (edited) The Torque curve on this motor with the supercharger is like a picture of a mesa. Like the outline of Ayers rock. Absolutely awsome. The poor old 245's on the rear will struggle like hell to keep rolling at road speed. Mr plod is going to have a field day writing tickets for hooning off the line. And Mr Hsv is having trouble with clutches, bushes and diff's. But he is still replacing them..politely. IBOO57 Member 538 Member For: 15y 5m 11d Posted 08/09/10 07:40 AM Share Posted 08/09/10 07:40 AM I agree that they should start lower and increase over the years but that's a bit too low I reckon.Even the Jag XFR has 375KW from the blown 5 liter. It runs a ZF 6 speed also and they manage to keep the driveline in 1 piece and it runs 285s on the rear.that's what Ford should have been using as a benchmark. Esentually its a mid model upgrade. Its kinda like the I6 going to euro 4 (or what ever it is ) emissions. Ford/Fpv may well be waiting for FG MkII to up the anti.It may not be the increase in power we were all after but the GT has lost weight and gained a sh!t load of torque down lower in the rev range. Ford have a budget to stick to, who would pay 150K if it made another 40kw?This motor has huge potential just look at what modified 03/04 Cobra's can do with their 4.6L blown DOHC engines. Finally we will have some proper competition from the V8's

That is over 3 times the cost of the GS, and just under three times the cost of the GT.
IBOO57 Member 538 Member For: 15y 5m 11d Posted 08/09/10 10:54 PM Share Posted 08/09/10 10:54 PM So what that it costs more, the Coyote Miami or whatever they call it has been detuned to its current state of tune and could easily have made 375KW so it dosent need to cost anymore just dont detune it so much.Dont forget the NA motor makes 310 KW so to spend $40 million on a blower kit thatmakes 25KW more than the NA motor is kinda odd no?
