In its day " the fastest 4 door production car in the world " :beerchug:

A claim by Ford of having 225kw but most every one knew that it was l lot more that, Top speed of 230km/h and 0-100 in 6.4 secs even though they were clocked at 175 mph (281 kmh) at Bathurst .

When raced at Mount Panorama they took 13 seconds off the lap record and remember they used to race them STOCK back then.

In todays world Ford would need a car that would have at least 450kws to 500kws from factory be able to do the 1/4 in about 10 sec and 0/100 in about 4.5 secs to produce the equivalent to what the HOEY did back then.

Yes they are a lot slower today than alot of cars on the road but what they did back then has earned them a reputation and a price tag with which today you can go out and buy 12 to 15 brand new GTs or for that mater F6s.

I see...

I heard that FPV are dropping the Pursuit range so the xr8 will be the only option if you want a ute, and if you want a sedan with a V8 it will have to be an FPV.

Does the xr8 really need supercharging when the base motor in the stang is already at 300+

It wouldn't/won't hurt because the XR8 is heavier than the Mustang.

Depending on price point, this thing is going to be serious bang for buck.

lol grab that E name now.

Would be very nice and if 320 is easy peasy with a force fed 4L 6, 500 should be a nice benchmark for a "tuned" force fed 5L 8

And am I wrong in thinking superchargers are a bit easier to pull more power with than a turbo. Not as in efficiencey, but a simple pulley change and tune to gain a few more ponies ???

Also more consistant and managable power ?

"Ford Falcon GT-H

5.0-litre Supercharged V8 (Coyote)

351kW @ 6850rpm "

Wow! That would be epic! I bet the "drivetrain issue" they are dealing with is the crap diff bush design...
