Look at the torque curve on it. How are 245's going to cope with that from 2,000 rpm onwards. The po po will have to prewrite tickets, he will be handing them out so fast for breaking tracion from the lights.

WTF were all those boys on pushies doing a few weeks ago ???

Lets just hope the media don't get a hold of it like they did in the early seventies. Then the moronic govenment will decide to step in again and they wont be allowed to build playthings like these.

Aftermarket special versus mainstream production

$100k versus $70k

Loose the massive wheels, huge brakes and crappy body kit and there about 80k I think so 10k for 145kw more sounds like a good deal to me. Also pretty sure there asembled in the HSV factory pretty much the same way I assume FPV will do theres. spoton.gif

can you tell me what the performance specs are of that commodore ? (that should have been aborted before birth)...

keep stirring the pot, that's fine, but once you see what FPV have in store with another boosted V8 variant, I'm sure your tune will change and you'll stop looking for HSV come backs. ;)

What the 375 GT HO? zzz.gif

Supercharged Clubsport specs:

470kw 770Nm 0-100 in 4 seconds flat (manual) 97k Fully optioned but as stated above in normal Clubsport trim about 80k

The new ones got even more.

But its STILL looks like a stormtroopers helmet gone wrong... and it still has that "mine's bigger than yours" attitude and waaaay too much "look at me" factor. No matter how much power it makes, its just not cool.

I mean, who cares about whose got the bigger KW figure! 98% of the time you wont be using hardly any power, but drive-ability is EVERYTHING. If it can't use the power effetively, what good is ti? I remember seeing one of these tested by a mag, the thing couldn't put any power down until the corner was over, 470kw, but still beaten by euros with far less power.

Secondly, does that engine meet Euro IV?

Hell no, I'm just using it as an example to show how disappointing Fords attempt at a supercharged hero car is.

And to stir up the people with there heads in the clouds thinking this thing is gonna stand next to Mother Teresa or Gandi FFS.

I think the general problem here is that people believe that supercharged=hero car.

I thought Ford were supercharging to maintain power increments to keep the GT civilised but more powerful... not to build some one-off special order hero car. (although the opportunity is there should they want it)

I think your right seduced!

I want a civilised GT with great low down lazy torque and a V8 soundtrack.

This is the reason I picked the FG Turbo last time around. The Ford/FPV V8 variants didnt have that nice lazy low end grunt and that meant you had to rev em even if your only driving at 6 or 7/10ths (I know, I test drove em). Now that FPV looks to have fixed the torque hole I am officially shopping :) :)

I really couldnt give a rats about how many seconds it runs down the quater, its the tractability for real world driving that I am most interested in. I mostly enjoy my car by heading for a weekend drive on some alpine roads, not for the drag strip....... I think most GT owners would fit that category.
