I am sure we will see a SC FPV running in production cars by early next year, but never in the V8SC series.

How would they create parity with a 6.2lt pushrod cast iron dinosaur (Holden) against a 5lt SC OHC VVT alloy motor (Ford) ?

One thing is for sure, I will not upgrade until they get HID's, LED's and intercoolers.

The 6.2 is Alloy not cast iron and it cant be that bad if FORD needed to add a Blower to compete.

Expensive Daewoo will just drop the 7.0lt all alloy into one of their HSV's to keep up. mmm lol. Seems the old 7.0lt did quite well at the last 24 hour production race at Le'mans in the Vette. What did Ford have there????

The ford is the ducks guts. That's a fact!!!

The square bore is more suited to higher revs. Putting the torque higher in the rev range Giving it a huge spread with the blower on it. Making it more drivable, more fun and quicker. It will be a piece of piss to make this puppy faster. As long as the crank is well balanced and supported.

What we need is fatter rear rubber. So we can at least run 275 x 35 profiles on the rear, so us old fossils dentures stay in our mouths. And we can at least drive from a set of lights without lighting up the rears or having that bloody light flash on the dash.

Bigger boots Mr Ford Bigger boots...shame shame shame.

Just another case of the big Ford tease. You'll get what your given and like it.

I gotta say theres a lot of bloody whingin goin on....

FPV/Ford have stepped up to the plate yet again and produced a performance vehicle with forced induction hanging off it and yet they still havent got it right according to a lot of posts...they've got me seriously thinking about jumping ship again....

.......I just need to get over the interior and key, turn, push button, key, turn, push button, key, turn, push button, key, turn, push button. :stirthepot:

Yeah I'm very surprised at how many tears are flowing about what hasn't been done to this car. I think Ford / FPV have done an awesome job to get us this engine and then supercharge it! I seriously can't wait to see it cruise around Mt Panorama this year when it is unveiled to the public. I'm going to have a hard time not putting my hand in my pocket and laying down the hard earned for one when it should be going towards a house.

I agree that the rear rubber is too small, but so many people upgrade their rims anyway to get a unique look that I can't see it as being a huge/deal breaking issue. I'm proud to be in the Blue Oval camp with these cars coming out and restoring some V8 honour.

The GT should eat the HSV everywhere now, and even if HSV release a 350kw version, just wind up the boost, and Ford is on top again.

I think your forgetting that hsv get there engines from usa also. That means they have the ls9 motors over there 6.2L supercharged to,the very same motor they run in there Z06 corvette.

It's gonna be hilarious. I bet they won't just beat it either, they will blow it out of the water.
