I have had itchy fingures lately and had to mod something!

so I chopped up my hybrid 2.5" cold side pipes and created my complete hotside pipe work with it, and made a new 3" cold side with the NA XR6 intake. the cold side is now 500mm shorter and runs much cooler on the intake side of the engine bay....

im getting it on a dyno tomorrow night to see what difference it made

Hows it going Fast-XR you have some nice pipe work there, have you checked out Mace Engineerings manifold and Plenum insulators! They are 12mm thick so will lift the throttle body and give you more volume in the plenum as well as keepn it cool? This pics without the plenum insulator.

yeah I have seen those. what difference would it make increasing the volume?

any bonnet clearance issues? I wonder how they go holding boost?

They reckon that the volume of the plenum should be around 80% of the volume of the cylinders to which it is connected so im not sure what the standard one is. I was thinking that 12mm would be enough to get more clearance off the cover under the pipe work, maybe for a bigger pipe.Im thinking of putting some 5" pipe from the standard air box to the turbo with a water/air intercooler back to the throttle body so there will be some short pipe work.Out here the temp off the roads gets pretty hot. Anyway I like how you proved that you can make some nice numbers.

powdercoating cost was about 30 for the lot. I have a bov underneath the cold side pipe next to the intake manifold
