Whats the car going to be used for? Streeter/ Strip? Why not just upgrade the front cover?

There are a few good options for straight bolt on replacement, which will support around the 400+wkw mark... depends on what your willing to spend and what your ultimate power goal is. Do you want 400 or do you want to go 500+ with a built motor ect...

The stock FG xr6t/g6et turbo has the smaller compressor wheel, so even just replacing that is going to cost you in terms of rebuilding the turbo, balancing and re-fitting ect.

A good option is to swap it with an off the shelf Garrett GT3582R, which is basically an F6 FG unit with a larger .70a/r comp housing, so you can expect alittle more power from it over the stock F6 turbo, and around a decent 20-30% increase over the stock XR6T FG unit. These have the bigger comp housing, so need you to enlarge your intake and outlet IC pipe joiner, which is no big deal if your still to upgrade the IC & intake systems.

Above this we can do a GT3566R and have it built to take a 66mm compressor wheel in the stock compressor housing, this doesnt need any intake mods as it retains the ford compressor cover.

Contact me if you want to discuss more options.

Chris.

how much power do you want and is warranty a problem

for 400+ I'd go a 6-boost manifold and a nizpro intercooler with a gt4088r with a 60mm waste gate then you need : process west undercar surgetank

injectors

valve springs

battery relocation

air box

heat Shields

I just did a f6 fg and used a gt4202r we got 422rwkw@18psi :buttrock: but we will be going higher with a built motor and zf box

G'day guys thank for your input and ill contact you to discuss rapid I've heard good things and your g6et is very nice last thing I heard you had swapped the turbo have you got it down the strip yet?

It's going to be my daily driver and mainly a street car but I still want to be able to take it down to the strip chuck on some street radials and go for mid to low 11's. Money or warranty isn't an issue not saying I'm willing to throw 30 odd grand into the engine alone but I have already ordered my brembos and wheels and organized suspension to be done through family so the rest can be spent on the engine hoping to only spend 10g but expecting to be hit for 15g and still would be happy.

I am aiming for 400rwkw but 450rwkw would be awesome, but also want a reliable engine to. Knowing that the stock zf wont last for ever I have put away some cash to have it prepared for the extra power. I don't want an engine re-build and would like to run it with stock internals for as long as possible.

As from what I have gathered from other fg builds and projects aiming for 400rwkw+ no engine rebuild is necessary but anything over 500rwkw+ and your heading towards it. Later down the track I will look into a engine build but for now I am happy with the power I stated above.

Ill pm you rapid for a ruff price range but still any idea's would be helpful of maybe some insight into your turbo swap and how much it cost, negatives, positives and so forth as I am fairly new to the turbo world but still have gathered my fair share of knowledge over the last year but have learned a lot of the people on here.

regards

I don't think you need anywhere as much power as this to run in the 11's.

My Territory, which with myself and full tank of fuel would be approaching 2300kg, recently ran 11.886 seconds with a lack lustre 1.9 second 60'.

The Territory Turbo Ghia is only in the low 320AWKW range.

Hey Casey,

How the customer decided to opt for a mid mount rather then highmounting the 42?

Looks, didn't want anything to stand out, turn out pretty neat! still need to get the tune right but still it's a bit of a weapon :buttrock:
