Hi guys,

I have a BA Turbo ute (with standard 17s rims) with 330 rwkw. Traction sometimes is an issue even with toyos T1Rs. I've heard that I could upgrade rears to R888 255/40/17.

Is it gonna create any handling or clearance issues?

Any ideas?

I have the 17's on my ute and I think the traction is great, I had 330rwkw up till a week ago and only had traction issues when the rubber was under 40% left

if I was loosing traction at the end of 1st and hit 2nd it would only spin for a bit and then come out of it

if its corners that you are having issues with you have to remember what your driving and suspension would be a better option

Id stick with the 17s and try different tyres, anything in the $200 range is perfect on 17's

The only 255/40/17 which are made to suit an 8" rim (and stated as that by the manufacturer) are the Federal RSR 595's.... All the other 255/40/17 tyres I have found require an 8.5" rim.

Hi guys,

Thanks for your replies,

I guess the next question would be:

Which one out of these two (Toyos Proxy T1R 235/45/17 and Federals RSR 595's 255/40/17) would have better traction?
