hi, I am going to purchase an alpine headunit to put next to the cigarette lighter in my ba falcon unte. I have also purchased some 6.5" splits. My question is: Is it possible to have the choice of what cd player I want to use so the speakers are wired to both the alpine h/u and the original cd player?, or will installing the alpine headunit make the original cd player un-useable? thanks

rbrbrb,

please dont take this as arrogent...

however - basically if u need to ask this, its best that you dont attempt anything as such.

best to maybe get a installer to fix this one up for you bud...

:beerchug:

sorry, and again nothing rude intended...

just for the record, yes this can be done, and there is ways to config such requirement, however if your basically wanting to just run wires from both to the speakers... walk away before u damage sh*t... :spoton:

Hi mate,

I have the same setup as what you plan to have... and the answer is no, you cannot have the choice betweem which cd player you wish to use. Installing the aftermarket setup disconnects the original ford cd player. Therefore making it unusable.

Here is an image of my setup:
