Is any one from sydney (or elswhere) heading to bathurst for the 12 hour production race 12-14th feb.

I am going to go out on a limb and say I think most on this forum prefer production car racing to v8 super cars.

tickets are cheap at $40 and camp sites on track are also cheap at $50 online ($90 for 3 days + beer/pie money)

Bathurst 12 Hour

there is an awsome suport program also (motakarna and heaps of clasic and club races)

I am heading up on Friday if any one wants to convoy it.

I just stumbled across this

Bathurst 12 Hour

Anyone seen it before? Looks like the production style bathurst still exists!

"Jeremy Gray and Chris Delfsma reckon their Class B High Performance Rear Wheel Drive Ford Falcon FG Typhoon F6 is a definite Armor All Bathurst 12 Hour outright contender on Sunday February 14 now that Andrew Miedecke has enlisted in the team as the third driver."

sounds good will it be on tv any where fox etc

Not sure, It has a channel 7 logo down the bottom.. assume they will telecast it live? I hope so!

"...the race will be televised in a 3 hour special on the SEVEN Network, through Fox Sports, New Zealand and other International Markets." - taken from the website.

Cant wait. Go the mighty F6!

This is how bathurst used to be - good to see it comeing back to life.

I couldn't agree more. The pre V8 Supercar October Bathurst races were a gem. They bred cars like the Phase 3 GTHO, the A9X and all of the other collectables.

The racing was MUCH more interesting because we could see Production Cars (with a few mods admittedly) in action.

The 12 Hr race jas been running for years now. Maybe they missed a couple of years. Remember the Mazda advert? Mazda 4 - Porsche 0. Mazda had a string of RX7 victories on the mountain.

It's a shame that Production racing doesn't have a much higher profile. V8 Supercars is flogging a dead horse. Smaller engines with blowers are the future and for that reason, car racing ought to promote cars such as the XR6T and other cars that are more relevant to modern motoring. Large cars are copping a caning in the sales stats. I suspect that we'll see smaller cars with smaller capacity engines using blowers to make power. Lighter cars won't need as much power. When this happens, how relevant will V8 Supercars be? Of course, Production car racing will then let us see our street cars in action, one against another. V8 Supercar drivers - don't crap on about how nice your cars are to drive. Think about the bigger picture.
