QUEENSLAND motorists could be nabbed for going just a little over the speed limit as new digital speed cameras allow police to lower their margin of error.

The Courier-Mail has learnt that the introduction of digital speed cameras, which will replace outdated wet-film models from mid-year, will enable the "tolerance" figure applied in the policing of speed limits to be lowered.

Who cares about the camera's margin of error... what about our speedo's margin of error... stupid pricks

I agree, I think it is a load of sh*t, When I have my car on cruise control when the road is on a bit of a down angle it will creep up from 100k's to 102k's.

They have to pay for all the new roads and tunnels some how. Its horse sh*t. I agree in principle that doing 61 in a 60 zone is speeding but what happened to giving people a fair go. The whole speed kills is getting old, I dont have anything against speed cameras but hiding them and not marking them anymore, is just blantent revenue raising. Hence them kicking themselves they could have been making extra dollors from fines for those who slipped 1k over the limit. If they were interested in saving lives they would be investing in better driver training and policemen actually on the road instead of in the back of a 10yr old sh*t box Expensive Daewoo with a camera. I have all my points and have never been pulled for any driving infractions. What about all the lousy drivers out there actually causing accidents. If it wasnt about revenue, then they would not be placing cameras on suburban roads. They would just use speed bumps. Least people would actually slow down rather than flogging it, only to find out 2 weeks with a picture in the mail later there was a cop.

Just wait, some time this year im betting on a congestion charge for Brisbane. This as well as rego increases, mr motorist is getting a really slack arse with all this fisting.
