Im not sure if it starts in 1st in perf mode or 2nd (might be how you are driving it recently) You can always manually shift it into 1st and take off then after selecting second gear slot it into drive. Also coast down hills in 4th and get .3L per 100 on the fuel readout hehehehe... fun mini game.
