JJs Member 15 Member For: 16y 2m 15d Posted 01/01/10 04:30 AM Share Posted 01/01/10 04:30 AM G'Day Guys,I am about to hit 30 000K's, the tyres probably still have another 4000 to 5000 km's left on them, but unfortunately last week I got a puncture near the wall of the tyre and it is now stuffed, I have the spare on the car now with a flat tyre in the boot. I need to make a decision on what tyres to put on fairly quick (Murphys law will see that I get another puncture very soon)Has anyone replaced their tyres yet and if so what seems to be the best without huge amounts of road noise or that are so soft I will get get less than the 30 000 I got from the originals. To replace them with the originals they are $560.00 each.... OUCHAny feedback would be useful.thanks

My advice would be Toyo T1Rs as you need them pronto.

JJs Member 15 Member For: 16y 2m 15d Posted 02/01/10 12:35 AM Author Share Posted 02/01/10 12:35 AM I have a G6E Turbo, and have the19" wheels, from what im told 30 000 is doing well, if I hadnt got a puncture and ruined a trye I probably would have got 35 000 or so out of them.I Did have Bob Janes suggest the 4 x Goodyear Asymmetric, but last time I listened to them they sold me rubbish tyres, so I am being more careful this time. How long have you had them on for? are the quieter than the standard? Grip levels? and what did you get out of the last set you had?Sorry for so many questions but at $460.00 per tyre I am trying to make as an informed decision as I can. Thanks for your time.Rgd's

My advice would be Toyo T1Rs as you need them pronto.+1 for T1R's. Great tyre. They feel a bit "squirmy" when new but they are very sticky in a straight line. Very quite, good wet weather grip, no noticeable tram lining, decent mileage for softer tyre. I've just done about 25000km on mine with 370rwkw and I'm about to get new ones. With the tread just about gone, they are only just starting to get a little noisy at lower speeds and show slight tram lining. My previous Falken FK452's where better in corners and had a more precise steering feel but the 452's showed a fair bit of tram lining when starting to wear and they weren't that good at holding the power. The difference in straight line grip between the two is like chalk and cheese
