Ok so after my car caught on fire yesterday at ford I was cruizin around with my mrs and first thing I noticed was no effing sub :stirthepot: I checked the amp and no power is getting to it, its still hooked up to the battery and the fuse seems fine. The fire started with the f*cked battery cable in my firewall, could this have blown my amp? would ford cover this?

Sorry to hear of your misfortune. Possible but unlikely I would say. Wind the volume up a lot but not playing any music. With your ear close to the sub check if you can hear ANYTHING coming out of the sub. Any sort of noise or hum - anything. If you can hear something then your amp is OK. If there is absolutely nothing then your amp may be dead. If there is some background noise then it may just be the sub feed cable to the amp has been disconnected somehow. All I can suggest. I'm not even sure if there is a separate cable or if it's integrated.

mate, simple..

get urself a test light..

connected it to the positive cable at the amp, and the other end on the car chassis...

if it glows - problem is amp, if is a no go - its your cable run..

Simple as that!

If you dont have a test light, or cant make it to DSE, or Jaycar ($10)... try a multi meter...

either or will be fine...

You can even try to use a 12v globe, and a bit of wire if you know what your doing and back urself to wire up your own test light... :spoton:

not to sure what the sick and pete are on about??

:dontknow:

If power is getting to amp from battery, could be one of a number of things...

Amp has tripped (protection triggered) itself.

remote trigger stuffed.

ground problem..

something of greater issue internally.

If no glow - then fuse could be stuffed..

Battery connection...

Amp connection...

or the problem at the firewall...
