Guys,

I'm after some help.

Today I upgraded my ICC from the standard LCD screen to a premium colour TFT screen.

I removed the top and bottom plug-in sections from my original ICC and transplanted it to the premium unit.

Everything plugged up, the car started fine however the screen shows this:

scode.jpg

I found out that it accepted a CD and after a little while of mucking around, it actually turns on when I hold down the FM and MENU buttons for about 5-10 seconds with the ignition on.

When I turn the ignition off and then back on again, I get SECURITY CODE ERROR again. Holding down FM and MENU turns it back on again, but I don't want to have to do this all the time.

The memory for the audio settings and CD seem to keep, but the FM station presets don't hold.

Is there a way for me to DIY fix this, or do I have to take it to Fraud?

Bugger!

A little more info. While driving, it stays on for about 3 to 4 minutes before switching off and coming up with SECURITY CODE ERROR.

The good thing is that all the air con settings still work.

hi mate I had the same thing happen when I installed my pw surge tank.. car would only click and not kick over.. it had security code error come up and I rang ford and they were no help at all.. I removed the + on and off the battery a few times and letting it sit for a while and it cleared its self and started.. did the same as you looked at every fuse and relay changing them but that did nothing too.. probably no help to you *Beep* but that's what I did to my f6 and it eventually worked after 2 hours of stuffing around pulling my hair out lol..

You will usually see this on the ICC everytime you remove the battery. If you have not swapped the ICC, it should go away after you turn the car off then on again.

If you did swap the ICC, then you will need to get Ford service to "pair" the ICC to the car. If you change from a low series ICC to a high series ICC it can stop the car from starting.

Roby, you will need to tell us if you did anything to the car to create this problem, also :welcome2: the forum

Loose plug somewhere?

Maybe on the BEM under the ICC, some of those plugs can be a pain to get back in... And they appear to be in, but they arent.

Since all this information (security codes, tacho, speed, etc, etc) is delivered by the CAN bus, leaving one of the plugs out somewhere along the chain could cause problems. My best guess anyways.
