Have got 20" by 8.5" rims and am looking at getting some new tyres for the rear as I only have nankang 245/30/20 on there and they don't cope with the stock power let alone when I'm going to add another 100kw in a fort night or so. What ever I do I know its not going to be cheep but may just be worth while in the long run ...

Max 255's on the rear dude...

Otherwise, as Erko said, go some 9.5 or 10" rears and throw a 275 / 285 on there!

mate I have 18x8.5 with 265 tyres front and rear, they are about as big as you can go on a 8.5. it'll really depend on exactly what sort of tyres you're thinking of putting on.

best of luck with the upgrades

Also depends on the accual measured width of the tyre, I've had some 275/30s that have been alot wider, than other brand 275/30s on the same rim.

I have Nexen 265/30 on 8.5inch rims on the front, the side walls pull in a little... and 295/30s on 9.5s on the rear, they are also pulled in a touch.

Does that mean you can put 245's on a 20x8 rim? (eg the 20" Dark Argent copies)
