Hey guys. I have a 2004 BA ute and am having trouble with the remote central locking. It works with the key and both doors are locking fine. But when u use the remote it makes a beep noise 3 times and doesn't lock. I have noticed the lock button on the icc isnt working either. When you push it it makes a noise like it is trying to lock but isnt working. I have checked the fuse and it is fine. So thought maybe it would be a motor that operates it. Has anybody had this trouble and if so how much to fix? Cheers guys. Any help is appreciated.

I assume its using the same motor that the key uses to unlock the doors.

my bet would be one of the plugs is lose on the BEM. if you reach into the tissue box under the ICC you should be able to feel 4 plugs in there. make sure they are all in tight

I doubt very much that it would be the door actuator. As he said it locks when you use the key. A faulty door actuator wouldnt "lock" with key or without. Id check your connections first.

Hi The power to lock the drivers door with the key comes from your arm, not the motor so the doors will lock as normal. When you use the remote the motor in the actuator provides the power to move the lock mechanism and if the bem doesn't see that the drivers door is locked it then unlocks the other doors. Cheers MD

Another problem I had that stumped me apart from the broken gear in the actuators was the micro switches in with the actuator and gears. The problem this caused for me was the door would lock then unlock, did it intermittently too as I would lock the car sometimes and go away shopping, come back 20mins later and the car is unlocked!

The micro switch wears out internally over time and needed to be pressed in just a little further to stop the shorting out that was happening.

I didn't take photos but remembered using a washer to raise the arm that moved over the switch!

My rear left actuator gear is still broken and couldn't be f*cked paying between $70-200 to replace it for a 10c part!

If anyone makes these gears I'll buy a packet...
