HAD IT AT THE FORD DEALER WHO TELLS ME IT IS JUST TURBO WHINE.. BUT VERY LOUD WHEN YOU HAVE THE WINDOWS UP IT HURTS YOUR EARS.. THIS NOISE ONLY STARTED 1000 KS AGO SO IF ANY ONE CAN HELP WITH ANSWERS BEFORE IT GOES BACK TO FORD , AND THEY DO NOTHING.. I WANT THE NOISE GONE SO I CAN ENJOY THE RIDE AGAIN COULD IT BE THE DIFF???? THANKS GUYS

WElcome to the forum. It sound like a diff issue to me. If your turbo is whining so loud that it hurts your ears in the cabin, it would be massively loud outside. Your diff on the other hand will easily transmit noises into your cabin almost amplifying it. I'd take it to a dealer who actually cares.

Then again, you say it only happens on take-off or going up hills.... does it feel like its lost power?

The poor guy

Hi welcome, and cop this sh*t.

Didnt know this was a learn to type forum.

Does it make you feel bigger and smarter dumping on poor smucks? Tosser.

Mate, Find a good work shop and ask thier advise on what it is. It's hard to say when you cant even tell if the noise is from the front or the rear.

Then go to your dealer with an idea of what it is and don't take any crap.

thanks guys.. I dont think its the turbo either but that's what the dealer says.. I reckon it is the diff for sure .. I will head to herrods and see if they can help..when you are stationary and rev the car you can not hear the turbo at all.. I might be an idiot but if it was the turbo would you not hear it all the time??

It would only come on during boost or if its constant your turbo would be on it way out very quickly. Im not entirely sure but revving the engine in neutral wont develop much if any boost because no load on the engine and the auto not letting you but saying that if it was the turbo im sure you would be able to hear it so hopefully you can rule that out.

What sort of wine sound is it?

Is it a weerrrrr I.e gear sort of sound? or the sound you make when you suck in air with a small gap through your lips? lol very descriptive.

Does it do it when your cruising at 100?

thanks again the whining is oooooooohhhhhhhhh sound .. it is high pitched and almost hurts your ears.. I realy think it the diff but the dealer promises its turbo whine.. but as I said to him it was not there 1000ks ago so why now.. he said thew typhoons have the same problem.. I think it is the diff.the sound in the cabin sounds like the diff but so hard to tell.. the power has not been reduced so I am leaning towards the diff..

To really make sure its not the turbo. Find a steep hill, leave the car in a low gear, load up the motor and go up the hill slowly. If it was the turbo this is when its gonna make the noise as it will be on boost, and should still be slow enough for there not to be any driveline noise.
