I am on the P plate laws (no turbos, v8, 200kw+) and looking at getting a XR6T ute, removing the turbo and putting it back in when I'm off my P's. How difficult would this be and is it a big job to do? What $$$ am I looking at in additional parts etc? I originally was going to upgrade straight away to a turbo as soon as I was off my P's, now that I may need a ute I thought save trading it in again, just go straight to turbo and remove it. I would suggest debadging your car including the XR6 so no one will ever be the wiser. My car is completely debadged but has had a fair bit of work done under the bonnet. Its also nice and quite so no one really has a clue until they look closely through the front bar.If it was easy to do mate there would be a heap of blokes out there that would be able to give you advice after have done it. But sorry to say doesnt look like there is. Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/64456-removing-the-turbo/#findComment-964450 Share on other sites

It's compliance says it's a turbo vehicle, whether you remove the turbo or leave it there the vehicle is not legal for you to drive.I just heard that on a forum so it's second hand info, you may wanna check it. Actually it was on this forum a year or 2 ago.. Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/64456-removing-the-turbo/#findComment-964456 Share on other sites
