Hey all I just need some information. Had a look on previous topics but couldn't find what I was after.

Basically ive got a 160gb Ipod classic and want to connect it up to my BF Fpv typhoon prem sound system.

Will the ipod work? and what cable will I need to connect them?

I know about the AUX insert near tissue holder but what cables will I need. Will the be any engine whine at all?

$150??? yeah check out ebay, got mine for $20 and works perfectly, dont even hav to put the volume up too high either (7-9)

install it yourself it doesnt take long (30mins and that's if your not sure wat your doing first time round like me)

mines a bf xr6 (not phoon) so not sure if its same but all I had to do was plug it in the aux near fuses, run it through the centre console

had to pull off plastic bits near gear stick and some of the centre console that's it pretty easy

its fun to do either way, just hav a go

not sure if this is allowed but check this out from another ford forum on how to take out ICC

There are 2 types available from Ford. I'm not sure if that's still the case now though. The more exepsive Ford unit at $135 has a pre-amplifier and some noise filtering already inside the unit, plus it comes with cables. The cheaper (older) ford unit didn't have a pre-amp. The real cheap ebay units are simply a plug adaptor, plugs into the aux input, same place under the dash, and you run the extention cable to the tissue box. They have no pre-amp and no noise filtering.

Not every single ba/bf suffers from the same electrical whine so sometimes the cheaper one works just fine, even though you have to turn the volume up on your ipod. The ones with the built in pre-amp are heaps better cos you don't have the volume up so loud. Also with the higher input level to the prem sound the loudness is utilsed a lot better cos it's at a lower volume.

Had a look on Ebay, looking at $94.00 including free post.

(This a good price, when I bought mine it was just over $100.00 at trade)

Very easy to install.

Cheers pete. After testing my ipod with a radio bluetooth thingy I think I will go with the cord. With the Radio connecter I get a constant whine and have to have the Ipod to MAx and volume to atleast 22 to get some decent sound.

By the way, does anyone know if there's a diffrent between the sub in a BA xr and Bf Fpv?
