He explained that he ran the Shoot 8 because it was more similar to the 6F then the 6 was. Apparently he hasn't put a 6F profile in, but next time I bring it in for the tune, we'll run a before and after on a 6F setting. Apparently there won't be more than a 5-8kw difference than the Shoot 8 run, so it's still a huge increase of the standard 270kw engine Ford claims the FG XR6T to be.Has anyone else ran a stock 6T on the dyno before? And if so, what were your readings? Should the ZF auto run on gear 3 or gear 4? Also, though a BF video was psoted, I'm still a bit unsure as to why people seem to be anxious about the car lifting up more then it should. Wouldn't it be because the turbo has a lot more boost in lower revs? I mean, I can't even rev my car to 2,000 revs with the brakes on without the back wheels spinning (no burnouts, thanks). So I'd assume it's different then the BF's, especially on the lower revs. Will definitely take a video camera next time. Which is I assume because it will loose some of the retardation that the rear roller applies so therefore a reading that’s not true. That's the only reason there's a fuss.edit: At the last dyno day up here at Elite a manual FG XR6T ran 311hp (232kw) Edited 16/12/09 07:54 AM by tab
Arkayne Member 203 Member For: 16y 2m 13d Gender: Male Posted 16/12/09 07:58 AM Author Share Posted 16/12/09 07:58 AM It definitely did creep up to the front roller, and lifted itself off the back one. Will this increase or decrease the reading? I will make sure to mention this to the tuner so we can get this sorted. I definitely want a clear reading just so I know. No reason to pay for a dyno run if it's not even right.

That's not the right mode for the turbo 6. It should be Shoot 6F.Go back and ask why they did this, and if it's an honest mistake ask for another run.Nice result for a stock car.Just for your information, both SHOOT_8 and SHOOT6F share the same ramp rate of 150. So the power shouldn't be any different between the 2 modes.

For whatever reason (V8 sales?) Ford seem to have underinflated the turbo 6 power figures. It explains why V8's are easy prey for the XR6T/F6

So the power shouldn't be any different between the 2 modes. Thanks for clearing that up. Now to only know if the results were rigged since the back wheels lifted off the rear roller at high revs (I think it was around 4500-5000 revs, and only happened for a slight second). This is nothing new.220-230rwkw figures have been hit by many BF's with a supposed 245kw at the flywheel. I'm still concerned that the results aren't exactly correct, but I am surprised at the outcome more or less! Only expected 220-230rwkw. So now thinking about it, it shouldn't take much to get the supposed turbo limit of 300rwkw? Since it's only 50-60rwkw off? Arkayne Member 203 Member For: 16y 2m 13d Gender: Male Posted 16/12/09 08:37 AM Author Share Posted 16/12/09 08:37 AM (edited) is pretty much how my car ran on the dyno (in terms of movement). There was a bit more pull forward, and it lifted off a slight more at the back, but pretty much as it was is how the car moved. It was anything excessive, but did lift off the back roller slightly.
