Causing the brakes to fail as there is no vacuum to help with the brake assist?Seriously though it seems odd as you could simply press the OFF button on the cruise control and I doubt that that would have failed as well. All apparently wouldn't work. The only explanation I can see is that when he crossed the median, he said the car "jumped" which may have disabled the cruise control, thus allowing him to break to a stop.Dule, If my car was stuck on 100 and nothing would disable it, I'm 100% certain I could find the fuse box and start pulling fuses like mad.
