No, surprisingly... She's more concerned that we'll fix and build the motor, but wont be 100% on the cause of the initial problem.

She HAS however had a say in what colour options I have for the engine bay, and it looks to be a deep metallic candy purple, with lotsa custom black perspex around the place, but that stuff is being done by me on the side so she gets to have a LOT of nagging, sorry input, lol.

Best thing is to take the motor out, but it on a stand that you can rotate (like 99% of engine stands)

Take the headoff and have a look for scoring in the bores, then flip it over and undo the piston caps from the crank to slide the pistons out through the top, just make sure you catch them!

Pistons will only come out the top on just about any engine......they won't clear the main bearing saddles.

well we got it stripped...

...

...

Bent #3 rod sumthin fierce!!!! Cracked #3 piston across the bottom, and back around past the underside of the pin... f*cking lucky it didn't split and blow up!

Bent #4 rod, no where near as bad as #3 but still...

Ground some of the crank away, where it was grinding on the underside of #3 piston.

...

...

CRACKED THE BLOCK TOO!!!

I'm really lucky no to have destroyed everything but I'm still in the same boat of needing a short motor, so I'm happy but saddened at the same time, if any sponsors wanna hook me up with a short motor for $3500 and I'll plaster my car with advertising for them, I'm all for it pmsl. But I doubt that will happen.

I'm ordering a new FG F6 short motor monday morning (if no sponsors wanna come forward), I'd like to run the same power through it that I'm running at the moment (359rwkw, and 1100Nm of torque), do ya's think the FG F6 bottom end will hold up to it? I Certainly hope so.

It's been a LONG nite, I'll post the pics after a few beers, or in the morning.

I'm an NDT technician, so crack testing is my 'thing'. I'm gonna give the block a good going over tomorrow, but yeah, it's together, but f*cking close to going kaboom! In my oppinion as an NDT tech, the piston should have let go, I'm amazed it's still together. ahhh well, hopefully my new FG motor will be sweet.

Greg, I'm placing an order on Monday.lol
