There is no smoke, fluid leaks, smells, etc anywhere. The car drives normal. sounds like sh*t but drives normal.

I'm gonna get the guys from ford to have a look and listen tomorrow, and quote me on a repair (the idea of the quote is to see how much they will charge to diagnose, and repair. This'll determine the avenue I take as to repairing, replacing things. Ford in Biloela quoted me $2500 (without freight) for a brand new assembled Typhoon short motor.

I hope he's wrong too des. I'm still running standard valve springs so I'd expect to get some valve float before bending a rod.

IT'S BEEN SAID MANY MANY TIMES BEFORE... YOU PLAY YOU PAY.

I'm happy it didn't go BANG. Things could have ben a LOT worse, 100kph, and a whole in the block could have been nasty if she dropped oil all over the place.

I do have 2 questions though... If my motor runs the A... oil filter instead if the Z9, does that mean my car has the same motor as a BA?

and, can you buy stroker kits for these cars? a 4.2L or 4.3L I6 would be HORN!

It boosts to around to 20 and drops back to 17 and holds that across the board. It's a pretty aggressive tune, and was running 360rwkw. The car is a BF1.

Yeah that's a fair bit of boost pumpin' through... being a BF I wouldn't have thought to be a problem with rods though... or do the series 1 use the same rods as BA's???

Either way had a listen also and yeah its no slight knock is it! I hope not too bad on the hip pocket for you Matt!

Got some prices today... I can score a new FG F6 Bottom end for just over $3000 delivered. Unless someone knows of used atomic short going cheap? The FG F6 short motor should handle this kind of power shouldn't it? I've seen them tuning into the 350's with just an exhaust, tune and cooler.
