And the design is crap! I trust you are talking about the bonnet release and not the engine

profrat Member 126 Member For: 21y 6m 24d Location: Eastern Victoria Posted 09/06/04 09:12 AM Share Posted 09/06/04 09:12 AM Just got my near-new (15000km) Manual Phantom turbo. First think I noticed was that the seat side panel was a bit loose. Funny I didn't notice it before I bought it. Has anyone had any luck with this under warranty. Seems to be a definite design fault to me. If you sit down hard on it getting in it takes the full force! Surely plenty have had this problem?LOVE the car though. My second Ford in a long line of Crumpledoors. Third Ford Engine - Bolwell Nagari - Why did I ever let that go??!! That was a ROCKET SHIP! But I recon the XRT goes harder. Certainly goes faster. The Bollie ran out of revs at 130mph, and that was definitly white knuckle stuff! The T is speed limited to 143mph as I calculate it. Am I dreaming ? Don't think I will test it for a while.

Do you have any pics?

Not much room for a baby seat. Funny how priorities change with family. Kicking myself now.Absolutly stock but with 2bbl 351 Cleavland. Brutal, crude, wild, scary fun!!!Much different from the new T.... in some ways anyhow.

Got replaced under warranty each time. The last time it got replaced, it seamed as though they used a stronger part. I think it might have a metal tube or some other kind of reinforcement in the part that keeps breaking. I don't know if this is something the dealer did because they got sick of replacing it, or if the part was redesigned by Ford.
