Hey guys,

I am after a OBD scanner that works with Centrafuse 3.0. I have had a look around and seen a few but not sure if they work with our cars.

What are people using on here?

Thanks

the cheap $30 ones from ebay should do the job. I have one on my BA2 and it works fine for basic stuff and should do fine for the diag stuff in centrafuse.

if you want to do it right then look at OBDPros though.

the ebay one is a cheap and nasty version of that. it should work fine but wont be able to receive data at high speed due to the slow connection to the pc (mine maxes out at 9600 baud compared to the 500kbit for the canbus in our cars)

Thanks mate, I did have a look at these once before just wasn't too sure if they were compatible. Will order one in the new year! :msm:

USB Car Diagnostic Code Reader OBDII CAN OBD II OBD2 - eBay Other Tools, Tools, Car Parts, Accessories, Cars, Bikes, Boats. (end time 24-Dec-09 11:07:26 AEDST)

that looks like what I have. can confirm it works fine with the centrafuse 3.0 trial. IMO its probably worth the extra for the real one from obdpros with the 90 degree cable though

I actually have another one too, a pretty expensive Mongoose FEPS(that can program too)which is a J2534 device, and run at our native 500kbit CAN bus speeds.

I've purchased DashCommand from Palmerperformance, and embedded this in CF30 - this way I can nicely display Skyline GTR-type gauges...but, the one I linked to should work with the $49 DashCommand too :)

See attachment for one of the displays I'm using from time to time - pretty neat actually.

I have just received my ODBPro ScanTool and I have installed it all and have installed a Trial of DashCommand 2 all the readings I am getting is engine RPM. Do I need to buy a full licence to see the rest? I am willing to purchase a licence just didn't want to if it wasn't going to work properly.

Thanks mate

Ok I purchased a licence and have DashCommand integrated into centrafuse now. Looks really good have been modifying the GTR style skin to suit the guages I want to see and that are available on our cars.

There are three PID's that I would love to have but don't think is possible on these cars well from the ODB connector anyway. I would like to be able to get Fuel Pressure, Oil Pressure, and Oil Temp there are PID's for these but I don't think they are supported by our cars. I did read on fordmods forum that you can get fuel pressure so I need to have a poke around an see what I can find.

Anyone here have any idea about these PID's I am after?

Will keep posted what I discover!
