6/4 Brembos On Fg Ute

I am in the process of upgrade my current Brembo 4 pots on the front with 6 pots which I have no concerns about however, I was also hoping to throw a set of rear 4 pots (same as FG sedan prepium package) on the rear.

I notice that when you tick the premium brakes box (when your ordering your FPV ute) they only upgrade the fronts and the rears remain single piston

I dug a bit deeper into this issue and have been informed that there are some issue with the 4 pot brembo's on the rears of the ute as there is no give for any movement in the wheel bearings like there is in a sliding caliper... what exactly does this mean? :fool:

In saying that I believe there is a few FG utes cutting around Sydney with 4 pots on the rear that havent experienced any issues yet

Is anyone on here running a set of 4 pots on the rear of a ute? can anyone shed any light on this issue

I've owned two FG XR6 Turbo utes and both of them had the 6 pot front and 4 pot rears and I never had any issue on either what so ever. Not to say some people dont just that I never did. Hope this helps?

You've had two FG utes already? now for your 20 questions.... time starts NOW; were they brembo's or AP racing? how did they perform? who did your set up?

I couldnt see how there would be an issue with the rears unless you were carying exceptional loads and putting the bearings under stress.

Matt from race brakes mentioned this issue a while back but has since fitted 6/4's to a number of utes without issue, I also know of 3 guys who have this setup and have put decent km's on them without issue. One of them tracking his car on a regular basis.

Thread revival....

Does anyone know what the solution was? Was there a change in the calipers? Change in the design of the car?

Any idea why some people are having success and others are having trouble with pad knock-off?

I know brembo introduced "anti knock off" seals, I dont know if they trickled down to FPV or not tho? As far as Im aware theres been no physical change to the rear end of the utes but I could be wrong :dontknow:

We can only assume/hope that the anti knock-off seals have been standard in Brembo calipers for a while now?

'
