Guest kamikaze Guests Posted 26/09/03 01:25 AM Share Posted 26/09/03 01:25 AM I just noticed that the fuel filler switch and boot switch are not lit with the dash lights. I just noticed after 6 months and thought they used to be. Anyone confirm this. BIL aw has told me his dont work and dealer said that's how it is, if so how rediculous. Not the power window switches, not the traction control, foglights, boot or fuel opener.Bit annotying but considering their position I wouldn't see them light up anyway (except the windows) Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/6423-dash-lights/#findComment-52973 Share on other sites

As for the window switches not a hard job if you have premium sound ( or you could pay a stupid FoMoCo prive to have Fairmont?XR8 sets put in ) As for the boot/fuel no they dont on Fairmont/XR/XT not sure about LTD. Mind you who the hell pops their boot or fuel cover when driving anyway? Most petrol stations are lit well and there is plenty ligth for that. As for the boot take a yoga class and learn to contort you body in stupid ways so you can bend around the wheel under the indicator stalk so you can see the button. The boot and fuel flap buttons are not illuminated.Maybe it was just the sparkle in my eyes when SWMBO finally let me behind the wheel reflecting.Sorry if I confused anyone. Cheers, Bazza. Guest kamikaze Guests Posted 29/09/03 02:43 AM Share Posted 29/09/03 02:43 AM thanks guys, thought I was goin mad. How scabby to save a few $$ and not light em up, and yes the window switches lit up would be nice also. Minor things lacking on this car. I had a explorer ltd prior ( yes slower ) and everything was lit, even the electric seats which moved all directions also!if the turbo ever gets exported bet you they,ll not forget these things! Your not going to open the boot or fuel lid while your driving. Mostly done when you are stopped and a door or 2 has been opened. Plus that'd be 50c less profit for ford. Every cent counts.
