wagnman Member 567 Member For: 15y 5m 28d Posted 08/01/12 09:52 PM Author Share Posted 08/01/12 09:52 PM I finally got the front end superpro bushes and camber kits done at Fulcrum Capalaba. They also did a wheel alignment that they classed as "aggressive street" on the front and drag on the rear. They set the front end up to grip and turn in and the rear end they stood up as straight as possible to give me maximum possible traction.I am hugely impressed with how the poly suspension bushed and extra adjust ability all round has improved the cars performance. It turns in massively better now and has so much more grip it has actually shocked me how well it handles, it feels like a different car again. The combination of the TEIN suspension, polly bushes and all the extra adjustment points makes it possible for the wheel alignment to be set up far better and the poly bushes are solid as so the car keeps its alignment much better under cornering and braking loads.I am stoked with the results and cant wait for the final piece of the puzzle which is the EDFC system for the TEINS which I will be getting towards the end of this month which will allow me to further tweak the suspension with shock adjustments "on the fly"I cant recommend the guys at Fulcrum Capalaba enough, their friendly service and professionalism have delivered the results I was after. wagnman Member 567 Member For: 15y 5m 28d Posted 08/02/12 11:17 AM Author Share Posted 08/02/12 11:17 AM Had some new boots fitted the other day, the Falken 452's were startin to look very sad (4 Wednesday nights out at Willowbank will do that lol).Opted for 4 of the very tasty Federal 595 EVO's in 245 front and 275 rear (they didnt have the 285's in at the time). To say I am happy with the grip is an understatement, these things stick like sh*t to a blanket in the dry and wet grip is not too bad either. They are however noticeably noisier than the Falken 452's so I have traded off comfort for performance yet again lol. Not that I give a crap though because its not too bad and the car hooks up bloody great so I dont give a dam.The guys at Fulcrum have been in my ear about a nice front sway bar that should find its way onto the car soon when its in there for the EDFC (within the next month). One another note the brakes now need attention (fluids rooted and disks and pads lookin sad) so I am doing some investigation on upgrades. Probably go for the usual slotted rotor, braided lines, caliper overhaul and good pads route but if a cheap set of 6 pot Brembos (front) come up for sale Ill be tempted.something like http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/BREMBO-FG-6-POT-BRAKE-KIT-NEW-/280808822262?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item41618295f6 maybeI have also found this which I am sorely tempted by............http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/FPV-FG-GTP-SEATS-SUIT-FORD-FALCON-FAIRMONT-BA-BF-covers-/260637076735?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3caf2e2cffI would SOOOOO love to get rid of the flat supportless G6ET seats and get some FG GT seats. It would sort the interior very nicely and hold me in better.GOD DAM YOU G6ET! You are destined to keep me poor!

wagnman Member 567 Member For: 15y 5m 28d Posted 08/02/12 11:38 AM Author Share Posted 08/02/12 11:38 AM (edited) Gday TRA1NR,Yeh the Federals are sticky (240 tread wear they would want to be lol). If I plant it from the line (going straight of course) in first (no stalling up) it grips and only gives out a meaty chirp when the turbo comes on boost in first. Besides that its 100% grip (TC turned on).The slotted rotors, braided lines, better pads option is by far the best bang for buck and also avoids any trouble from insurance / cops etc as every part is std sized and ADR compliant. Its a no brainer really.A Brembo upgrade would have to come in at a total steal for me to go for it TBH as in all reality the G6ET brakes are way big enough for anything Ill throw at them and with these basic upgrades will be capable of light track day use etc which will keep me happy. The only real reason to go for the Brembos or other big brakes is for looks or if your a regular circuit racer. Posted 09/02/12 06:21 AM Share Posted 09/02/12 06:21 AM (edited) Looking hot mate! Now that I have investigated and done brakes. I'd recommend the DBA T3 rotors and Ultimate pad combo all round. They are a bit dusty though. I look like I have shadow chrome wheels on the car now after a week lol... looks really nice actually! On my car that is stock currently until tomorrow afternoon when all the mods start they are almost too much if that makes any sense. They have great pedal feel and the bite is instant. The dust is just a by product of them doing their job and doing it well. They do squeal a little under light braking coming to sets of lights etc but not enough to make you wonder whether you can live with it.And your point about ADR insurance etc is well made. Trying to keep as factory stock look mod wise is a good idea. Keeps the police/epa away and certainly makes insurance something that is quite accessible too.
