wagnman Member 567 Member For: 15y 5m 8d Posted 06/09/11 10:11 PM Author Share Posted 06/09/11 10:11 PM The guys at Fulcrum did a great job on the rear end bushes. We ended up doing all the bushes that required the cradle to be dropped out (diff mount, cradle mounts, blade arm bushes etc)the upper arm bushes enabled them to take alot of negative camber out of the car standing the rear wheels up alot straighter which will be great for improved tyre wear and better traction in a straight line. The car feels alot better. The sloppyness has gone and is replaced with a "supple ridgidity" which is hard to describe beyond that you car really feel the suspension is working alot easier and better now.The rear end feel alot firmer planted on the road and the grip is improved.I went with the "race only" bush for the diff mount even after warnings of increased NVH and to be honest I am very happy wioth the result. It is solid as and while there is a very slight increase in NVH it is not obtrusive in any way (bearing in mind that I do not care about NVH though LOL!) I cant wait to get the front end done now as that will really effect the turn in and breaking feel of the car dramatically and balance the whole package out.The bushses that came out of the rear end were ROOOOTED! this car has only done 25000 km's and the centre diff bush was torn to bits along with two others that were falling apart. It goes to show what the torque these turbo six's does to the driveline hey.
wagnman Member 567 Member For: 15y 5m 8d Posted 07/09/11 02:45 AM Author Share Posted 07/09/11 02:45 AM Had the guards rolled today, lovely job done by Kevin from Precision Guard Rolling, he came to my office and did the job onsite, very good service. definately no chance of any scrubbage now, might even be able to get a fair bit larger than the 285's I currently have under the rear as the guard lip is perfectly smooth and now sits a fair way away from the tyre's sidewall. wagnman Member 567 Member For: 15y 5m 8d Posted 07/09/11 06:09 AM Author Share Posted 07/09/11 06:09 AM Im running 20 x 10 rears on a +35 off set (I think). The tyres are 285's and have never scrubbed but since I got the bushes sorted the boys at Fulcrum have been able to stand the wheels up alot straighter and the tyre to guard lip clearence was ALOT closer so I thought I'd make a pre-emptive strike and get the guards rolled. For $250 for all four I thought it was a bargain and cheap way to ensure there are no issues the first time I have a couple of hefty fellas in the back lol.
