Had my G6E Turbo for 2 months now and pleased with it.I noticed that the left footwell lighting is only a thin strip across the footwell compared to the right side.I thought that this was due to my factory VDO but fitted after delivery sat nav position. The sat nav was fitted horizontally on the bottom of the glove box.The factory sat nav sits above the left kick panel. I had it moved but the footwell lighting was the same, so I reversed the light behind the glove box and it is now lighting up the whole back of the footwell. To do this job takes 2 minutes.Simply open the glove box and once opened pull the glove box stop on the top right of the glovebox down to open it further. You will see the footwell lighting globe facing down at a 45 degree angle to the floor from the fire wall side at the lower end of the glove box. The top light is the glove box light.Simply pull the globe holder out and reverse it so it is now facing the fire wall and facing 45 degrees upwards. There is just enough wire to reverse it and it does not get in the way of the glove box when closed. This globe holder does not have to be turned to remove or install simply pull it out and push it in.I have looked at 2 new cars which both have it installed facing the cabin.I believe it was engineered to face the fire wall but has been installed incorrectly from the factory. After all what footwell lighting only does a thin line on one side but the whole footwell on the right.Let me know what you think.Regards FG G6E Turbo

Sounds like a good tip for you lucky owners of new FGs! Nice stuff.

On my list now... It's been bugging me: thought it was weird that it was such a narrow lighting pattern.

Posted 25/12/09 09:37 AM Share Posted 25/12/09 09:37 AM Done - a very relaxing Christmas mid morning (before beer) 3 min job. And you're right Spuddiferous, it's in the wrong way round. Original light patch on the floor was 2cm x 3cm, and by turning the bulb holder around and mounting it as you described, it now lights up the entire back and floor of the footwell. Thanks for the tip off. Now - while we're on that subject - anyone noticed the mounting of the bulb in the glovebox? How useful is that?PS - Merry Christmas you lot...
