I am currently driving my old 89EA Fairmont Ghia (done me a good 613 000 Kms) and im looking to buy a new XR6T (yummy yummy). My fuel economy at the moment is about 12.8L/100Kms and I get about 350-400k's on $50 of fuel (approx 50L with Darwin fuel prices) get about 50-100k's less when city driving. But I understand sixfans problem. Doing Darwin - Katherine trips can chew heaps of fuel! And when bowsers are few and far between you may need to carry an extra jerrycan (or two) of fuel

Now that I have the interceptor chip done (thank you Chip Torque), apart from VASTLY improved power, my ute uses less fuel on cruising now because of the optimised fuel/ignition changes. The best of both worlds!Oh, and if I was remotely concerned with fuel useage, I would have bought a diesel. :D

It uses a bit more fuel than the T but I could go 600 ks on a tank. As for getting a ute, Too late now, I often regret getting a sedan when I chat about it with my backseat passengers while I listen to the premium sound and take corners with the IRS......... Guest BarraTurbo6 Guests Posted 30/09/03 01:37 PM Share Posted 30/09/03 01:37 PM just got back from QLD 7000km round trip. 5 people in the car and the boot BULDGING. My T averaged 10.9L/100km overall for the trip.Consistantly getting 600km DTE sitting between 110kph up to 1?0kph on a few occassions.Normally around town I average 350km DTEI changed my oil and filter before I left @8000km, to Shell Helix 5W-40 full synthetic and ran on PULP all the way.Next change I am going to try Mobil 1 0W-
