Fg Sway Bars ?

I have been tinkering with the suspension on my FG

I was looking at getting a blade adj 33mm for the front. I am trying to see if it helped get that last bit of push out of the front end on low speed corners. Without losing/taxing the high speed stability I have now.

I have been told by two people now that there isn't one. mmm FM! To the point of "no one has 33mm bar or I would make you one"

ok say that's true. Whada ya think of going up 3mm on the rear bar? Will that give it some oversteer at low speed while keeping it stable at high speed ???

And yes I have gone about as far as you would go with the alighnments and weight balance. As in spring weights/ride hights. Keeping it legal. (looking)

Or could running a more agressive pattern on the front bags help, not cheap as mine are new.

Whiteline are developing a 33mm adjustable bar at the moment, we haven't got a good ETA on when the bar will be ready though...

You can also look into going for a higher spring rate in the front, this will reduce roll and take the stress off the sway bar. Currently kings aren't doing a higher rate for the front of the FG's, but we can get them made.

ive had the rear swaybar in the rear of my FG for just under a year now, all sweet

ordered a front one at same time, finally came in 5 weeks ago, made the steering like a go kart. sharp as !!!

mine is the 33mm adj whiteline one.

The std fg is 30mm & I think it's solid, looks solid, but is it ? Sounds like it is and at the ends look like it is. Isnt 30mm already a large bar for a 6 ?

How are the tinny brakets ford are using to hold the bar on coping.

Are you or anyone you know doing or going to do better mounting brakets for them. I am just a bit worried about a 33mm bar being held on by a bolt and a coke can.

I went to WA Suspensions prior to ordering the car, so back in March/April 2008, started with Lovells superlow prototypes. then purchased the swaybars and coilovers at one time

they've been bugging whiteline for almost a year about a front swaybar, so I guess whiteline wanted to shut them up

the rear, dunno what size it is, its larger though. lol

and dont know about the brackets, I got WA Susp to fit everything

The chassis brackets have been known to flex and bend under extreme track use. Also, normally the 30mm is very big for a 6, however the FG is much stronger structurally, the B-pillars are approx 6 times stronger than the BA from memory. So torsional flexing won't be as much of an issue. I may look at doing something with these in the new year. Shouldn't be too hard to box them in and make them a bit stronger....

You also have to remember Tocchi has an FG XR8, so there is more weight over the front end there.
