The most commen and worst accident at the lights is the guy turning right.

If your going to try and run it watch his front wheels not him.

Look at the price of a packet of cigs these days, half a slab. We all know they are going to kill you, but ???

help me out here with some answers..

I think I just got busted going thru one of the combined sped red light "safety" camreas on the citywest link at haberfield. Was cruising/daydreaming with the flow of traffic but going about 70-75kph. Saw the red light and gunned it. Went thru the intersection at about 80, then slowed right down before I hit the other side as I saw the 60k sign. Pretty sure I went over the first white line while it was still yellow. No flash though and I went past about 2pm.

So would I just be busted? knowing my luck speeding and red light. 3 points each infringement plus double demerits = 12points gone lol.

Yeah I shat my pants last week at the exact same intersection. Dont worry youre safe. But remember it MAY become a "speed" camera at any given time with this new "rotation" thing.

50% of the road toll is plain driver error. STUPIDITY

No it's not.

50% of national roads tolls are due to POOR ROADS.

This is not a "theory" it's based on Government Research.

People die because others don't want to wait for 2 minutes at a set of traffic lights.. if you get done by a redlight camera, you deserve all you get...

As already mentioned the vast majority of roads deaths in Australia are due to the poor conditions of the roads.

Why shouldn't we feel pissed off when the buck is always passed back onto us, the motorists???

Oh and by the way, we know the state Government install these cameras for money because they admit it!

Their new "target" in fine revenue is $329 million which they will now be able to achieve thanks to the new cameras.

If it WASN'T about revenue and really about safety, then why not install 3 highly visible signs prior to each intersection? What good is a fine in the mail after you've already run the red light??

Wake up and smell the coffee boys, this isn't Rocket Science..

im sure most ppl on here are aware of some of my views on cops and speed cameras

but to be honest red light cameras with a speed camera arent such a bad idea shocked.gif ALTHOUGH I HAVE TO AGREE ITS SORT OF POINTLESS IF THERE NOT POSTED WITH GOOD SIGNS NO POINT HAVING A PICTURE OF SOMEBODY BEING KILLED WHEN THEY MAY HAVE SLOWED DOWN OR STOP AT THE RED LIGHT IF THE SIGN WAS BIGGER OR MORE OF THEM

ive seen some really retarded stuff over years with idoits running red lights I mean its not like sitting 10kph over the speed limit on the highway running red lights is like playing russian roulette

I seen a very close call only a few days ago where some idoit put his foot down to gun it though the red light nearly taking out a family in a minivan

cheers trev

I hope you're right. I reckon I have at least a 3 week wait to find out if it was on or not.

This is my issue too, if it's a particular intersection with a bad accident record and you want to stop it you put signs up. Proper signs not a pissy little "Safety Camera" thing, there are so many signs on some roads that it's difficult to read them all at times. If there were proper signs I wouldn't have any issues with it.

well, I was nearly killed yesterday, at a ped crossing when a :icon_ford: gave his hyundai everything after his light went red... I couldn't hope for anything more than him losing his licence or having the same thing happen to him.

The light was red for like 5 seconds before he booted it, he was about 50m away and then auto kicked down and he flew past... this is when I wish there was a camera on every set of lights. :bye: there were kids everywhere, it was across from an ice cream shop! damn idiot!

Which is why 3 highly visible signs makes more sense than 1 small sign. Fear of losing one's licence is your best hope of slowing lunatics like that down.

Happy new year everyone

Not quite.

Most common - rear end collisions

Most serious - Drivers who fall asleep, cuz they dont brake
