I posted details of the aftermarket clutch free diff I installed on My G6E Turbo which was informative on the Pro's and cons of LSD's factory and aftermarket. It was moved to the driveline forum for what reason I don't know.I fly jets for a living instead of installing or selling diffs. Anyway you can do a search for my post with my username but all I am saying is whatever aftermarket diff you install will probably be stronger and the same cost except no clutches to wear out. Also it is super quiet and makes no noises engaging.Basically the same as stock open wheeler but not only in a straight line. All I am saying is do your research before you buy one.

Regards

Spuddo (FG G6E Turbo)

Yep. That would be because the amount of noise the LSD will produce over a single legger... for a luxury car, it would be unacceptable. The last thing they want is all the grandpas complaining at the doors of dealers...

This is total crap. My LSD is as quiet as a stock open wheeler.Would not know it was installed except it goes sideways in a straight line and around corners.

Cheers

lol, skyline!

dealer was telling me, 80-85% of g6et's they sell are ego. it's the colour most desirable.

that's cause the other colours are woeful (not that grey is much better).

I can't wait to see these sucker drop value quicker then a ba series 1!

Will be very interesting actually...

When I first got mine, almost 12 months ago now, RedBook had them at a resale rating of 47.

About 4 months ago I noted that went up to 57...

Mind you is that 57% of 'RRP' or 57% of what people are paying for them.

lol @ skyline/lancer boy :spit:

Spuddo, your topic was moved to try and keep everything easy to find. Whilst it is specific to G6ETs it is a technical driveline thread, so is more at home in that section. http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/G6-E-Turbo-Diff-Update-t62344.html

The noisy diff comments above are in relation to the standard LSD fitted to the XRs etc., so obviously has no bearing on aftermarket replacements such as yours.

One quick comment about the "noisy LSD diff" issue - rubbish.

Mine's been in for 3500 plus k's now, it's a Ford LSD replacement unit. No clunks, no noise, no nothing (including traction control playing with brakes et al.... LOL). Could not be happier - it's brilliant. Most of the credit goes to the installer - some guys really know their stuff - and that certainly DOES help. Settings for backlash etc are the crux of the matter.
