saba, so u mean to say...

1. if you stereo and ac are on - then u start the car u hear the noise?

but....

2. if u start the car and the ac was off, then turn it on a little later - you dont hear it?

if this is the case - what happens if you say - take the car down the shops or something, get out turn it off for a few mins, then jump back in with the ac and stereo on?

(in other words re-start the car when its warm?)...

Do you still hear the noise in this case?

I have a FG xr6 turbo ute, have had my whole sound system overhauled by GL PRO SOUND in melbourne.

I have gone very quality gear such as Rockwood Fosgate P2 sub, 360.1 sound processor, T6004 4 channel amp, 6.5inch MBquart Reference splits in doors, quality wiring....

and still have that sh*tty hissing noise when music is turned down, even when I put a cd in I can hear it reading the tracks if that makes sence.

They said to me they have tried everything, and have contacted Rockwood Fosgate who supplied the 360.1 digital proccesor and they just said that the Factory ICC must be

starving and is no good.

If anybody or any car audio workshop has a fix please let me know how to fix or ill pay you to fix it!!

Its annoying because you pay top dollar to kick ass gear, to get this mothy sh*t hissing noise!

that's my rant...

cheers guys

It's interesting - when I got my gear installed and had noise, the installer said he called a few other installer contacts, and was told there's no way to get the FG silent - the ICC is just rubbish. He asked me if I'd read about it on the forums I frequent. I said I hadn't, but would check. I came across this thread, posted my story, and now more and more people are popping up with the same issue. It seems the ICC is just pure rubbish. Rubbish in = rubbish out. While my installer was trouble-shooting, he plugged a high-end Clarion headunit directly into my Amp, and said the sound was 'Magic'. Compared to the ICC, the sound was on a whole other level. Pure, perfectly silent noise floor. Awesome sound, without the 'compression' of sound the ICC spits out.

Now, an aftermarket head unit seems the obvious choice. But in an FPV, where you'd put it is where the 'Start' button is. Has anyone relocated the Start button on an FPV, or would it be easier to get a standard car's barrel, and get an auto electrician to wire the car up so a key starts it? Both options present new problems. What a pain. Why do car manufacturers integrate the stereo into the dash so it can't be upgraded, then install a POS system like the so-called "Premium" sound I've optioned up to? Premium sound my arse. A colour screen and dual-climate control does not make "Premium Sound!"

So frustrating...

Give me back my old-school jap cars where you could install an awesome single or double-DIN head unit easily. Shame they were all limited to 206kW at the engine....

I have mentioned it before have a chat to someone who supply the Audison Bit one, maybe tell them to stand by their product and if it dies not work then you will not pay? I have seen it in other cars and it worked perfectly.

I dont know if I am going to bother with a new amp to the fronts, I may just buy a set of speakers in right power range to runn of the stock system and run an amp with a sub, a couple of people on here seem happy with this option. Ill let you know how I go with my setup
