G'day to all,

My mate is selling his XR6T. Recently he cut out a hole in the lower air box to put a second snorkel in. He has now decided to sell the car and is worried he won't be able to get a road worthy certificate.

He is in Victoria. Anyone have any experience with this?

cheers.

Doubt it would be an issue. It's really got nothing to do with the roadworthiness of the vehicle. And if it is, keep trying different mechanics until one passes it.

Holes in any part of the car chasis/rails/guards etc all are said to comprimise its 'structural integrity' and will only pass a roadworthy with an engineers certificate (that is: that car needs to undergo a full inspection by an engineer and sign it off as OK).

An 'alteration' to a factory airbox should be fine.
