The dinosaurs didn't do anything and they still got f*cked over :stirthepot:

I make light of this subject because if you saw how insignificant our pollution is at the moment compared to china the USA and many other developed country's you would see that giving our economy another premature kick in the nuts is unwarranted.

I agree that compared to China and USA, Australia contributes f*ck all. But when you look at per capita data we're pretty high on the list. So it's a priority to get those two on board.

List of countries by carbon dioxide emissions per capita - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

By the way, lucky a lot of people in India don't even know what electricity is otherwise they would be comparable to China and USA.

I belive this bs tax will cost aussie jobs.

its time for kevin rudd to step aside, the only reason he is doing this is to prop up his political ego and set himself up for a future job in the united nations, he plans on becomong the secretery general after he is done with screwing up australia.

all his fiscal spending would have been better off spent on putting solar panels on every house in australia, taking a strain off the base load power generation system thus cutting carbon emitions greatly. :stirthepot: you kevin you cost me my job.

I take it as insurance,

Far from it. Everyone pays more and gets nothing for it - only people that will benefit out of this are the scientists doing all the supposed research and the companies involved in trading this new commodity. Quite allot of vested interests there.

I'm sick of going through all the facts and figures so here's the basic facts that can't be refuted:

1. If you voted for Krudd, you're a f*cking tool! :finger:

2. The Libs are sunk unless they grow some balls, turf the Labor stooge Turncoat, and oppose this ETS sh*t!

3. Climate change happens, get over it! :nyaah:

4. Man made climate change is nothing more than a money making load of crap! :pooh:

5. Supporters of the ETS, Rudd and man made climate change theories are mindless f*cking drones!

6. This country is seriously f*cked if we continue along our current path of pathetic state, federal governments and opposition!

7. Cleaning up pollution needn't involve excessive taxes!

8. Carbon is a natural element and not one of the poloutants we should be targeting!

9. Al Gore is the king tool, who is making billions of $$ from so called green based companies, and ETS brokerage firms!

10. If you try to refute these facts, you're a f*cking tool! :stirthepot:

Dunno about laugh, cry would be a more fitting emotion.

Quite a few predictions in that thread that have come true. In 12 months time he'll be reinstated as well. :stirthepot:

its all just crap. Dont get me wrong the human race can do alot more to change the way we live but this is just a way to tax air. We get taxed on everything else why not the sky aswell. But will it change anything no. The big poluters will just charge more for what they produce, electricity for example, and we as the consumers will just have to cough up the $$ for it

Since when was CO2 a deadly toxic man-made poison that earth was choking on anyway. Last time I checked it was naturally occuring and trees, grasses etc required it to live, and actually thrive on it when there's even more around. Damn tree huggers and Al Goreans.

I agree about the whole trying to control pollution in general, and all the other actually noxious emmissions but picking on CO2 as the bad guy in the whole environmental issue is like blaming speed for every single road death and only targetting it.

It's just like the Y2K millenium bug, some smartarses and dipsh!ts sold the idea with scare mongering, then profited hugely in the panick when about 5/8 of fark all would've actually gone wrong.

As for the ETS, the amount of difference Australia will make in the CO2 levels as a result of it is hardly even measurable, but the economic difference it will make to Australia is going to be a little bit different.

That's what happens when you put a geek into power, they get all moist and excited on the power trip.
