Australia with it's massive population of approx 22 million people are going to make a poofteenth of difference to "climate change" compared to India & China for eg ?

FFS people this all about Kevin 4 UN. I am staggered by the ignorance of the populace on this matter.

You are going to pay more for everything , for what ?ermm.gif

Controlling our pollution output is a good thing, as I dont think we want to end up like China, where wholesale pollution is rampant and unchecked

That I absolutely agree with, pumping the place full of crap can’t be a good thing.

Compare us to China though for the sake of this argument and we are irrelevant.

A few months will make no difference. I'm not really convinced about the whole man made climate change thing anyway but to introduce a new tax before any other country is a bit rough. Might have something to do with the debt from the stimulus?

As reported on Ray Hadley's morning program on 2GB , a ute was pulled up on the F3 with insulatuion bats stacked over 8 packs highblink.gif

We won't speak of the used bats dumped in the National Forests as Sir Crome Dome will experience another bout of denial

The way we are sold this whole emissions trading crap is much like how I sell a new round of mods to the missus.

I come up with a bullshizle reason why I need some parts, I then order the parts, book the car in to have them fitted and the car tuned. Once I have all plans in motion I ask for permission from the missus all the while making her feel like she has a say.....

If only to see if the ETS money stops them from emitting that noxious CO2... :innocent:

I'd prefer to see an investment in renewable energy sources instead of these taxes but I guess it's better than doing nothing.

And the argument that we shouldn't do anything until China, India and USA act? Someone has to start, I'm not that informed but I think we're still behind most of the developed European countries.

Yeah it will cost a little more but what's the alternative? Doing nothing and hoping it get's better? What if one day we do realize we could have done something but chose not to because it would cost us more?

I take it as insurance, you might or might not need it but most of us choose to pay for it because if we don't get it and we do need it we'll be f*cked.

Plus if clean energy becomes widely used it should become cheaper with technology advances.
