Ok, I have a crossover replacement pipe, and I have a temporary dose pipe setup until the cooler kit goes on. im running the 8psi generic tune...

I have an the oil breather line connected to the dose pipe (its almost 2m long as it runs around the back of the engine bay under the coolant tank and into the dose pipe, im not sure if the length is a problem...)

but yesterday I felt the car wasnt feeling right, I looked under the bonnet and saw oil all over the intake manifold, the dipstick popped up and allowed oil to spray everywhere...

Why has this happened? and how can I stop it happening again?

I was thinking of attaching an extension spring to hold the dipstick down, but id like to fix the cause before I just put something there to force the dipstick in place...

thanks

I have checked the hose for kinks, and the oring is still intact, I doubt the breather is blocked as its only been on for a few days...but ill have a look into it anyway

does it matter what size breather line I have?

im using an 8mm ID fuel line hose, I have it slipped over the existing breather line which is about 9mm OD. Its tight!

I think I know what the problem is...

the hose dips down a bit in one place, im thinking that oil has settled in this part of the line and filled up, stopping air from passing.... ill re-route the hose so that it drains properly all the way to the intake, and ill see what happens...

I’d say because you have your breather hooked up to the dose pipe, when you back off the throttle the turbo pressurises the engine. I’d guess and say that your PCV (Positive Crankcase Ventilation) valve is stuffed… That’s my thoughts any way!

when I drove out to see mal wood my dipstick done this also. I didnt flog it at all and the only thing it could have been was the bumpy road knocking it out. when I got there it was actually back in its place, they are loose as in fitment. I just zipped tied mine in ;)
