Shark Member 128 Member For: 15y 7m 5d Posted 23/12/09 04:43 AM Share Posted 23/12/09 04:43 AM high amounts of power will override traction control. because of this, it becomes unpredicatble imo. so if driving in the wet, dont accelerate to hard.. simple. Just out of curiosity does our TC differ from other cars that have big power from the factory and still work??? wiresquire Member 266 Member For: 20y 4m 18d Posted 23/12/09 11:46 AM Share Posted 23/12/09 11:46 AM so what ends up being 'turned off' or disabled because the higher power output kills things with a tune?- I would assume ABS over-rides all, and so is always available?- traction control v1: cylinder cut is 'turned off' and so you just have to use your mad throttle control skillz to stop rear wheels spinning?- traction control v2: dsc effectively becomes useless and is turned off?wsps - and no offence intended, but the only time I have ever heard dash and turbo in the same sentence was also with roger and cordia, so I may be way off track here. Example. Waiting for a gap in the traffic. You give it a little boot, not much, but enough to break traction< and in the middle of an intersection you car drops power and for an instant, you are stuck.I hate that. Yes, shouldn't boot it, but I'm talking just enough to get the sensors to kick in.The other is when your reflexes are quicker than the sensors, so the car steps out, you correct and the TC cust in and your fighting with it.The alternative of course is to turn it off and end up facing the other way. What to do?Mind you, ABS sure beats sliding on full lockup into the middle of a roundabout on a wet day. Guest XR09 Guests Posted 04/01/10 11:06 AM Share Posted 04/01/10 11:06 AM I read on here that in the FG you have to tap the brake pedal first to engage the cruise control. From someone who has actually read an owners manual. It's a saftey feature ??? All Fg's have it????What the hell is the guy behind you going to think. "WTF is he hitting his brakes for??"Glad mine is broken and just goes into cruise made when I hit cruise then set. What ever happened to the noddy and his Terrifying territory ride through vic ?? Was the same in previous models too. Most would never notice it as you'd be touching the brake either when you're starting it, putting it in to gear, or before you get to a road where you'd normally set the cruise. And that was an exploder you're talking about. Jury still out on that one. Hey, thanks dash.Q. is it healthy for these systems when the car is run on the Dyno, I know that when I start Driving after a run on the dyno it takes about 5-6 minutes before all my dash control lights resume to normal.
