G'day fellaz.

I have a 05 BF XR6T which is tuned to 265rwkw.

Before I start looking at pushing 300kw at the treads I want to know if the ZF can safely take it.

Now before any replies start, I am not the burnout type so that load factor will not be put the tranny.

What are you guys putting of your cars. My car has done 60 000k's now I am now regulary servicing the diff and auto box.

Cheers.

The ZF are very strong and I think a few people here are pushing well over 350RWKW on these boxes with no dramas.

I think the main concerns are that it is a good idea to have the oil replaced frequently if your going to be giving it a hard time. Ford charge an arm and a leg but I got a few quotes in my area and it seems to be roughly around 400 for oil and filter. Although I have not had mine done yet.

Also I hear the input shafts are the weak point but unless your really giving it the beans I dont think you will have to worry.

Be warned though, like anything mechanical things are bound to fail if your putting more torque through it, its just a matter of how much and when.

I ran over 400rwkw in my F6 with the stock ZF box and never had a issue. Did have it fiddled with by the tuner but was mostly to to speed up the gear changes.

Mate do not be to concerned with 300rwkw on the ZF, Mine was copping 400rwkw of abuse day after day and although it was not to happy in the end it did not break.

And when I say abuse I mean many 11 sec passed all with massive burnouts, track days and general abuse. Just keep servicing it.

The guys above are spot on.

I mean, I run 370+ at the wheels and its a daily drive.. its been to drags, out to the mountains many nights etc.......

You will be safe unless you do something plainly stupid with it :stirthepot:
