Just wanting to hear peoples opinions ive basically had my door, which has now become doors, gaurd, rear bumpber resprayed.

originally was done under warranty via a mobile repaired called X

X attempted to do paintless dent removal on door under warranty, door paint cracked. Now X resprayed the door, on all four attempts colour was incorrect and there was sand, dust, marks etc under the clear.

then I complained some more and agreed to fix it threw a panel beater Y, which was one of theirs

Y tried to resprayed, extended from one door to rear door plus guard also. Had many imperfections in paint, crators, sand specs, dirty water runs, orange peal etc but now it has been spread to over three panels. door panels hanging out, one being held by gaffa tape and grommets all left in cup holder.

took back to to Y to get the door panels put back on.

car was delivered back to me with a massive scratch on rear bumper  as well as the imperfections

I later learned that something to do with the door handle had been not put backtogether properly as the whole lock barrel came out and attempted to put it back it but the screw wont tighten, taking the door apart further I found my dynamat screwed up into a ball and left inside the door as well as one of the speakers had been screwed in crooked, the wooden bracket was broken by crooked screws.

Y denies removing the door trim/handle, and said will attempt to fix the handle only.

got the rest of stuff fixed by my audio installer

car was taken back to Y to fix imperfections which they implied that they would be able to remove 95% with cut and buff and will fix the rear bumper.

got it back yesterday and currently...

doesnt know how to fix door handle

rear bumper now has a yellow line where the spray has stopped and clearly visiable where it has been sprayed, worst of all has dirty water runs and almost a full black handprint under the clear. I suspect the stuff under clear can be removed but not the yellow lines?

the imperfections, few sand specs have gone... most of crators are still there, some which actually came out worse. crators are clearly visable and look sorta like dents when looking at the door

apparantly I have to only deal direct with the Y as of this moment...

is it me being intollerent or will most of you not accept this either?

Djkice had my octane p/s door repaired and painted after a brick throwing incident...The first beater was a tool and farked everything he touched....The second beater did a better job...But to a trained eye you can tell its been painted....no man will ever duplicate what the factory did as it's all painted by robots..Mate it's where you draw the line...It's a head fark and all but at the end of the day its really only a falcon...Speak to ford australia tell them of your concerns and see where that takes you...Hope it works out sweet at the end...beerchug.gif

It shouldnt matter what kind of car it is. If you're paying someone to do a professional job that's what you should get. Though it is hard to find that these days

im going through the very same dramas at the moment with my front bar, except the first time I got it back (after about 6 weeks) it was such a sh*t job with fibreglass resin on the mesh , overspray everywhere, and was not sanded back to smooth and felt /looked like sandpaper in areas!

I wish I had taken photos of the job all the way through like JC 807 said, ill start doing it now too,

Don't mean to hijack thread but I feel your pain. I feel like it will never look like a factory bumper ever again.

"For f*cks sake that's your job, you spray car stuff, DO IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME AND YOU WONT HAVE ME COMING BACK TO GET YOU TO DO IT AGAIN! f*ck!!! "

All very interesting... I have some paint imperfections on the front bumber of my FG F6 looks like they have been marked in the factory during some kind of quality control as it looks like a tick on eachside of the front bar (just in front of the front wheel arch) and an 'ok' on the graphite inserts the car has had the pvp paint protection applied and I think this is what brings them out is only noticable in direct sunlight. Was going to go back to the dealer and request to have the problem rectified but im not 100% sure I want to bother after reading some of the horror stories on here. Any suggestions as to what I should do? What do you think the chances of making ford / FPV replace the front bar are?
