AaronXR6T Member 3 Member For: 15y 1m 16d Posted 23/11/09 01:06 PM Share Posted 23/11/09 01:06 PM I just picked up my new FG XR6T with a few options, Leather, Premium Sound, Safety Pack and Factory Fitted Reverse Sensors.I'm hoping somebody can give me a straight answer to a problem with the reverse sensors. The Reverse sensing system I have isn't integrated into the ICC and just makes a beep under the dash rather than the rear speakers as described in the manual. Also the audio doesn't mute when selecting reverse and there is no graphic disply on the colour screen.I've mentioned this to the dealer and their response so far is that the Reverse Sensors are genuine Ford, but were dealer fitted. This isn't what I ordered.I'm wondering if it is possible to have a factory fitted system on the XR6T? Does anybody have an integrated reverse system on their FG XR6T?Azz

Mine was fitted in the factory and is fully integrated into the ICC. You should have a display come up on the ICC with bars that show how close you are getting to an obstruction behind. Audio should also mute.Sounds like you need to have a talk to them and ask why it wasn't fitted from factory.Benny

You sound like you have the latter so check your paperwork to see if it mentions what you've specifically asked for.

XR64T Are we there yet? As mentioned, it mutes the sound and beeps through the speakers and shows a pic of the car with coloured bars to show where obstructions are.My wifes Hyundai Sonata has an after market one that was fitted by the dealer for the original owner and it sounds like it works like yours. The stereo still plays and it just beeps faster if you get closer. I think it may have a red light on the parcel tray as well that flashes.Go back and get stuck into them. My Purchase Order (Company Car) clearly stated Factory Fitted Reverse Sensors so the dealer is looking into what is required to change them over to a full factory system. The ones I have now are completely useless, they randomly beep when reversing even when there is nothing even remotely close.Hoping a straight bumper swap and maybe a module is all that is required, this assumes the wiring is in the loom. Still waiting to hear the dealers plan to fix it up.Otherwise the car is awesome, first time I have bought a car that exceeds my expectations. Handling, engine and gearbox are stunning. Also impressed with the electronic integration.Azz

I hope it works out. I once ordered an air conditioned XF 250 4 speed ute (showing a bit of age). Couldn't do the speed limit west of Ipswich without it overheating. Went back to the dealer as a warranty claim, and was told that if I'd ordered the car with factory air conditioning, I would have automatically gotten a larger radiator. Because mine was dealer fitted, I got the standard radiator. My reply was that I'd ordered an air condtioned ute, and if it can't do the speed limit on the bitumen, it's faulty. Ford stuck to their guns, and I had to buy the larger radiator.Mark Edited 09/12/09 10:34 AM by Markwr400426
