I was driving along the Gore Hill Freeway in Sydney, on my way into work, and due to heavy traffic it was stop / start all the way to a set of traffic lights.

I had just stopped after travelling about 15m, when "Crunch" :cussing:

I looked in my rear view mirror, and watched as a Toyota Landcruiser reversed back from my boot. Closer examination, showed no visible damage to the bumper, but the boot lid is gone (some of the boot lid internal panels are crumpled), and totally out of alignment.

OK, whilst the visible damage doesn't look that bad, who knows what else may have been affected behind the bumper and the likes. I'll try and post some pics.

All I can say is Arrrrgggghhhhh. Not my beloved T.....it's been tarnished :(

Damn!!!

My last car was written off when a landcruiser doing 80km/h didn't notice I'd stopped and cleaned me up from behind. Now I'm paranoid about some guy ramming my T. I feel your pain.

shouldnt landcruisers and other 4 wheel drives be off the beaten track, you would think with that extra visability they would see you coming to a stop.

Probably to busy playing with themselves to be concentrating on the road <_<

I Feel your pain Pym

Sorry to hear that dude.

It's usually the ones that haven’t been in their 4WD long and badly misjudge. Either that or their laying back in their seat on cloud 9 somewhere.

I know they love cutting in simply because they don't take the time to lean forward and look around before merging.

I'm always wary of 4WD's driving to work, especially now. I drive 110kms a day. I'm in a smaller car (the `84 Honda Accord, not the XR6) and well, hmmm, Monday morning a truck thought he would push me off the road great fun, lucky the car and myself are ok!

Ed,

That sucks! Glad to hear you got through ok though.

Glad to hear it was a relatively low speed accident, pym. Hope that it all gets fixed up OK.

Well I took my car in for a quote this morning. A whopping total of $3555.20....

Over $1200 for parts, and over $2000 for labour. Thank God it is covered by the other drivers insurance.

The attached pic shows the visible damage....

I feel your pain.

most 4wd drivers are crap drivers that is why they have a 4wd. they think its safe which is true but how about us people who drives small cars!!!!!!!!!!! I think 4wd should have a different class of license. at 3.5 tonnes it not to be treated lightly.
