Posted 20/01/10 10:26 AM Author Share Posted 20/01/10 10:26 AM Happy days!So is this a ute-only thing along the lines of your theory with the unused vents? Or a potential issue with sedans as well?Nah mate its both sedans and utes. I pulled the trim apart again to test my theory. The ducts that run through the trans tunnel to the rear vents (that are blocked on the utes), although the blocked ports get cold its not enough to create water vapor to drip.According to the techs all the different fg models can suffer from it. Both dual and single zone CC.Also not happy days the idiots in service cocked it all up for me. 3 weeks they have know ive been coming and they waited till today to order parts. Also found scratches on the shifter and evidence of a flogging thanks to my GPS unit. James is not pleased!

They have known I was coming for 3 weeks. For those of you who have this problem this is what you need, part number BA18B539ASF, Seal Kit Air Con. The monkeys can read about the fix on their Tech Talk Hotline in May 2009.Something about some foam and a seal is the problem not the drain hose backing up in the FG. Its a different problem to the ones experienced in the the B series.I work for ford and can clrify this to be the cause of the concern, for FG only. The issue resides with an ineffective seal in the vent box causing condensation, which is an unavoidable part of airconditioning, to spill out when the containment level reaches too high. There is a fix for this issue, but, parts are on back order, and so unavailable for 2 weeks or more, at present.the issue with ba/bf, which are a completely different a/c system is that the drains above the gearbox are ineffective at removing the excess water, normally due to built up debris.dave

Have obviously changed their policy of not taking vehicles out on the road without the owner. Mofos

Posted 21/01/10 08:08 AM Author Share Posted 21/01/10 08:08 AM Yeah mate, I wasnt going to name and shame (was going to at least wait till its fixed lol).I clearly asked for no test drives without a phone call first for permission. They tried very hard to squirm out of it when I bought up the gps tracking. Another customer looked horrified when he over heard they had been speeding in a customers car. Usually I wouldnt care and "what I dont know wont hurt me" sort of thing. But the fact they knew I was coming and didnt order parts (along with letting me leave the car knowing full well they didn't have the parts), made a fuss about a courtesy car for a strictly warranty job, scratched stuff, and then noticed a 5klm flog to top it all. I always make a point of taking a pic of the odometer as I drop the car off anywhere...will definitely be keeping up that practice.Slightly OT, did you get an invite to the DJR launch next week? Never had a problem before, and happy to allow a drive if they call first. As for an invite, I got something on an email last week but deleted it without reading. Most of their emails are regarding the great price on "The New FG XR6"
