That's well above the redbook value. Even if it had the premium pack I wouldnt pay that much. So much better to wait until a better deal comes along. I almost bought a chaser at 22k simply because I got carried away when I took it for a spin.. All my logic went out the window and I wanted it right there and then. Glad I didnt in the end. When I inspected it, it had about 3-4 holes on the passenger side to the left of the console bay. They're pretty obvious. They told me that's where they mount their computers (or whatever it is they use to do check-ups on cars). Also on the right side of the driver seat the edge was completely warn back about chest height(very noticeable), they told me that's because of where the driver would holster his gun?? Couldnt understand that since I thought their guns were on their belts??Seems unlikely that cops would have a tow-bar installed though, unless someone has already bought it off them and done it themselves. The rego papers should state if its registered to the police but it may have already entered the private market since then so im not sure.I didn't think it was too much at all. Redbook shows the following:http://www.redbook.com.au/used-cars/details.aspx?R=384550&__Qpb=true&Cr=6&__Ns=p_Make_String%7c1%7c%7cp_ClassificationType_String%7c0%7c%7cp_Family_String%7c0%7c%7cp_Year_String%7c1%7c%7cp_SequenceNum_Int32%7c0&__N=2994%204294961316%204294843582%204294965539&silo=1300&__No=15&seot=1&__Nne=15&trecs=119&__sid=12353ABA2A98Damn that's a long link, anyway it seems to be around about right. Thought due to the alghtly higher k's than normal I'll ask for a couple k off the price. It's been great so far (towed a bit, stock power). There's a full page sticker on the owner info page of the book. I was positive that the rims on this vehicle are actually 17s and not 18s - will check Wed night. If so, there's a fair bet that either the dealer or the prior owner has swapped out the rims for some BA/BF MkI rims... pharkit Donating Members 251 Member For: 17y 10m 8d Gender: Male Posted 23/11/09 09:18 AM Share Posted 23/11/09 09:18 AM Still seems a bit dear. Redbook values them at 28k if they've done 25,000km. I suppose it is an 08 model though. I got mine for 27k with under 30,000km (07 model) with premium pack. You should be able to knock a few grand off I would have thought. They are 17s. only the "update" you are looking at got the coloured centre dimple rims I think. I like em! Like the whole update look actually. Mad on white/orange/bright coloursedit: I'd guess cops would option standard 17's. gregor Member 459 Member For: 16y 8m 22d Posted 23/11/09 08:49 PM Share Posted 23/11/09 08:49 PM Those look like standard bf mk2 rims which are 17s. At some point in 2007 they did the update which added the premium sound and bodykit to all sedans. So those pics dont tell us if it was or wasnt a chaser. For a chaser its really unmarked, however I'm nervous about getting it even at a reduced price due to the premature wear on the engine/turbo etc...Crap.Al. I flew 2000kms to test drive my car. Loved it and drove it 2000kms home. Don't let distance get in the way of the right car.Oh, and I was searching for about 3 months before I found it. Dont be impatient and end up with something less than what you wanted.
