It costs more in the structural integrity of the tyre to have the higher load index. At least 93 for these cars.I.B. I believe that's enough, considering there is no rating on the tyre plate on these cars...Doesnt that pass RTA/NSW Regulations IB? I've asked what it would cost to send in 2 lots so that each is under the value of $1000... will see what they say. Or maybe I'm just retarded. As it turns out, it costs more to ship 2 tyres than 4! $208 for all 4, vs 2 x $218 to do 2 lots of 2!How the hell does that work??!! Quote All goods (except for tobacco products and alcoholic beverages) may be imported duty and tax free if their value is $1,000 or less.Note: However, where there are multiple packages to the same addressee in Australia from a single consignor overseas that arrive at about the same time, then the value of all packages will be combined for duty and tax assessment purposes. Customs duty would be around $70 I think, GST is neglible as I claim it back.Deliver is 3-5 business days via FedEx Economy apparently. Will keep you all posted. ZAP No boost, no bottle, just my foot on the throttle! Lifetime Members 7,935 Member For: 21y 2m 12d Gender: Male Location: Sydney Posted 03/12/09 12:31 AM Share Posted 03/12/09 12:31 AM Ron, that makes the deal unattractive after all the costs. The GST is 10% on the value of the items + the Duty is payable on the total landed costs (less GST).From my calcualtions this would add another $280 to the $1400, making the cost $420 per tyre.I paid $480 fitted and balanced for the same tyre. For all the hassel, I do not see a huge saving to be gained from this.I hope I am wrong about the taxes, but this is what they charge for anything over a $1000 landed value.
